Plastic turning

DEMGY SPN is equipped with numerous high-performance machine tools for its machining operations. For the turning of plastic components, our team uses digital lathes (MAZAK and MORI SEKI) and conventional lathes (Cazeneuve) to machine these components according to customer specifications.

The turning operation consists in machining plastic parts which have an axis of revolution by removing material. These parts are rotated by a mandrel and then the turret fitted with a cutting tool removes the desired material. The precision of the process will depend on the dimensions of the part, the means used as well as the material chosen. DEMGY SPN turns all high performance plastics including the following materials:

PCTFE / PTFCE, FEP… for components resistant to very low temperatures, excellent sealing and high mechanical performance
PEEK, PFA, PPS, POLYIMIDES…. for parts resistant to very high temperatures, and having high mechanical, electrical and chemical performance
PTFE, PVDF… for components in contact with chemicals
