Bronze compound PTFE
Key features:
- Improved deformation resistance
- Improvement of thermal conductivity
When PTFE is loaded with 15 to 75% bronze, its mechanical properties are improved. It is more resistant to deformation, creep and wear. It also ensures better thermal conductivity, making the material capable of dispersing heat much better than PTFE.
PTFE loaded with bronze can be combined with graphite or MoS², its friction coefficient is then optimized. However, the chemical resistance of bronze filled PTFE becomes very poor when it comes into contact with acids and alkalis.
Materials made of bronze filled PTFE are used in applications subject to high mechanical loads or when it is necessary to disperse heat from an environment subjected to high heat.
