Carbon compounded PTFE
Key features:
- Antistatic
- Improved wear resistance
- Improved compressive strength.
PTFE when loaded with carbon becomes more resistant to compression, wear and deformation. Its thermal and electrical conductivity also increases. In addition, its expansion coefficient is optimized when combined with ceramic. It has a low permeability.
Carbon compounded PTFE retains its other characteristics such as chemical stability and exceptional resistance to high temperatures. Thanks to all these characteristics, carbon compounded PTFE can be used to produce bearings for applications at high speeds where it will be necessary to dissipate electrostatic charges. Carbon-filled elastic bands made from this material and used for compressors can also operate without lubrication.
