PCTFE polymer

Of all the high performance plastics we work and machine at SPN, PCTFE polymer is the most widely used in industrial sectors such as aeronautics and cryogenics. This popularity can be explained by the incomparable technical characteristics of this material.

In addition to its low gas permeability, the PCTFE polymer is distinguished by its ability to maintain its mechanical properties despite exposure to cryogenic temperatures. It has a high moisture repellency and is resistant to both creep and tensile stress. The formula of the fluoropolymer PCTFE or polychlorotrifluoroethylene is hydrogen-free, which allows this material to remain intact despite the aggression of certain corrosive active ingredients contained in chemicals. The PCTFE polymer differs from PTFE by its low coefficient of thermal expansion and its formula which includes an additional chlorine atom. It is this element in particular that gives it its low melt index.

The Société des Plastiques Nobles has an excellent reputation in the manufacture and machining of high-performance plastics. For 80 years, we have been manufacturing semi-finished products such as films, rods, plates, bars, strips and tubes. Depending on the needs of our customers, we are also able to produce components such as seats, seals and rings, either individually or in series. SPN can also manufacture custom-made components with the high-performance plastic material of your choice.
